About the role
Bookkeepers play a central role in the financial management of companies by handling the ongoing accounting. They often have an education in economics, for example a vocational education in accounting or a vocational qualification in bookkeeping. Bookkeepers can also be certified through industry organizations that provide additional credibility.Responsibilities
Bookkeepers are responsible for accurately recording all of the company's financial transactions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. They prepare financial statements, handle invoices, and manage ongoing reconciliations. Maintaining order in the company's financial documentation is an important part of their work.Skills and tools
Bookkeepers need good knowledge of accounting software such as Visma or Fortnox and an understanding of accounting principles. They must be meticulous, have a good head for numbers, and the ability to handle confidential information. Knowledge in Excel and other Office programs is often necessary.
