About the role
Personal representatives support individuals with mental disabilities in their daily lives. They work to ensure their clients have access to all community services and support. Often, they have a background in social work, psychology, or similar education.Responsibilities
Personal representatives assess the client's needs, coordinate efforts, and represent the client in dealings with authorities. They work to strengthen the client's autonomy and participation. Creating a long-term plan for support and service is a central part of their mission.Skills and tools
Personal representatives must have a good knowledge of social legislation and the resources available. They need strong communication and collaboration skills as well as the ability to build trust. They often use administrative tools for documentation and follow-up. Common competencies demanded by employers are beteendevetenskap, rehabilitering and psykiatri.
