Lift operators primarily work within ski resorts and are responsible for managing and supervising ski lifts. They ensure that the lifts operate safely and that passengers are transported without issues. Often no formal education is required, but practical experience and internal training are common.Responsibilities
Lift operators monitor the operation of the lift, assist guests during boarding and disembarking, and ensure that safety regulations are followed. They perform daily safety checks and minor maintenance work. In case of disruptions or accidents, they are the first on the scene to handle the situation.Skills and tools
Lift operators need good communication skills and a sense of service to assist and inform visitors. They must be able to handle emergencies and have a basic technical understanding. The use of communication radios and safety equipment is part of their toolkit. Common competencies demanded by employers are hydraulik, mekanik and pistmaskin.
