They can be employed within municipal operations or private companies and often a high school education in healthcare and social care is required. Support assistants must have good social skills, empathy, and the ability to adapt the support to the individual's needs. Knowledge of laws and regulations within social services is important. They use aids and communication tools adapted for the people they support.
