Licensing is required, and in Sweden, these are issued by the Swedish Transport Agency.Responsibilities
Pilots handle all aspects of the flight, from pre-flight checks to landing. They navigate the aircraft, communicate with air traffic control, and ensure that safety regulations are followed. Monitoring the aircraft's systems and responding to any emergencies are also part of their responsibilities.Skills and tools
Pilots must have in-depth knowledge of aerodynamics, meteorology, and aviation regulations. They use advanced instruments and control systems in the cockpit. Good communication skills, decision-making, and the ability to handle stress are important qualities. Common competencies demanded by employers are research, svenskt medborgarskap and kemiteknik.
