Machine cutters are responsible for setting up and monitoring cutting machines to ensure accurate cuts. They read blueprints and work orders to understand the specifications for each workpiece. Maintenance of machines and tools as well as quality control of the finished cut parts are also included in their duties.Skills and tools
Machine cutters must have good knowledge in blueprint reading and measurement techniques. They use cutting machines such as laser cutters, waterjets, or plasma cutters. The ability to work accurately and efficiently as well as having a basic understanding of the properties of materials are central skills.
