About the role
Tiling apprentices are in training to become fully-fledged tilers and often work side by side with experienced craftsmen. They learn the trade through practical experience on the job while they can supplement with theoretical studies at a vocational school. After completing their apprenticeship and passing the required exams, they can obtain a professional certificate as tilers.Responsibilities
Tiling apprentices assist in preparatory work, mixing of adhesive and grout, as well as laying tiles and porcelain slabs. They learn to interpret drawings and instructions to perform the work correctly. Under supervision, they also carry out cutting of tiles and ensure that the substrate is even and clean.Skills and tools
Tiling apprentices develop skills in handling tools such as tile cutters, angle grinders, and grout floats. They also learn about different materials and methods to ensure durable and aesthetically pleasing surfaces. Precision, accuracy, and good physical condition are important qualities in the profession.
