They perform service and repairs and conduct checks to ensure that the aids are safe and functional. They also provide advice and training to users and healthcare professionals on the correct use of the aids.Skills and tools
Assistive technology technicians must have technical competence and knowledge about various assistive devices, such as wheelchairs, walking aids, and lifting devices. They use tools for diagnostics and repair as well as IT systems for documentation. Good communication skills and empathy are important to understand the users' needs. Common competencies demanded by employers are rekonditionering, mekanik and psykiatri.
