Structural engineerYou are part of the structure and arrangement department where you contribute to one of the ongoing projects. Here you work innovatively and passionately to meet the customer's needs and expectations, while balancing them against the rules and regulations in place. With your technical expertise, you ensure high quality and functionality in the design.You become part of a collaborative team where you join Rebecka, Josefin, Waqar, and Ola, among others. Together, you shape the sustainable future of shipping while contributing to a positive work environment.At FKAB, we offer a flexible way of working with the possibility of remote work, although many of us enjoy being in the office. Our headquarters are located in Uddevalla, but you can also find us in Gothenburg. So, you have the opportunity to choose which office you want to belong to.

What we’re looking for
Skills
We believe you have a technical high school education or background and that you have experience with AutoCAD. If you also have education in shipbuilding (Naval architect), it is a big bonus. You are fluent in English, both spoken and written, and we prefer that you have a driver's license B. It is a clear advantage if you have experience with 3D (Inventor), and even better if you also have knowledge in ship design and stability. Most importantly, however, is your willingness to learn - which you will have the opportunity to do during a training period of 6-12 months.Personal Qualities
We would like you to be the open-minded person who not only enjoys being part of a team, but also can take initiative and be flexible in your way of thinking and working. Structure is key in this job, but we also appreciate your ability to question - that's how we create the best solutions together. På FKAB är stämningen på topp och vi sätter stort värde på våra gemensamma stunder. Vi är ett gäng som gillar att ha kul tillsammans – från den dagliga utmaningen i plankan (rekordet ligger i dagsläget på 1.20 minuter) till vårt mysiga fikabreak vid halv tre, där alla samlas för en kopp kaffe.
Årets höjdpunkt är definitivt julfesten, med en cateringfirma som skämmer bort oss. I förväg gör vi en dragning om vem som ska ge en julklapp till vem (för rimlig budget), och här går rimstugan het, med en imponerande hög nivå.
Location
FKAB Marine Designs kontor ligger centralt beläget på Gustaf Mattssons väg 2 i Uddevalla. Här sitter 24 av våra 30 medarbetare i ett öppet landskap på tredje våningen, i en byggnad som kallas för Pipfabriken. Hälften av gänget avnjuter en matlåda på kontoret medan andra halvan tar en lunch på stan, som många gånger slutar i en promenad. Närheten till både tåg- och busstation gör det enkelt att ta sig till kontoret kommunalt, och du som kör har tillgång till parkering alldeles intill kontoret.Vi sitter också sex medarbetare i Göteborg på Odinslundsgatan 17 där vi delar kontor med vårt systerbolag METS Technology.
