As a developer at Drakryggen, you will get to work on both in-house projects and external projects with clients. The assignments vary between working alone and working together with colleagues from Drakryggen. Most client assignments are with different e-commerce companies where you develop and maintain their IT environments.To ensure that the job at Drakryggen is right for you, it is important that you get to work on assignments that suit you and your profile. Based on your preferences and technical skills, you together decide which assignment you can work on, both externally and internally. Regardless of what you choose, you will be part of a small team with 12 employees at the company and 6 colleagues at the Gothenburg office, where your closest colleagues will be Christian, Jonas, and Richard.As an employee, you also get to spend a few hours of working time on so-called greenhouse projects, projects that you get to shape based on what you like and are passionate about within tech. These greenhouse hours give you the opportunity to both develop and learn something new, but also the opportunity to take an idea and shape it into an innovation and product that can be taken further later on.

Sustainability

Active environmental choices

At Drakryggen, they do as much as possible in their operations to protect the environment, both internally and externally. The company is not entirely carbon-neutral, but with the help of their sustainability strategy, they continuously measure their position and work towards improving it over time. All materials generated in the office, primarily office supplies and household waste, are properly sorted for recycling. They always strive to purchase organic food and drinks, for example, for kickoffs or the office pantry. When new furniture or similar items are needed, priority is given to purchasing products made from recycled materials, and anything no longer needed is donated or sold to promote circular trade. Even any business trips are guided by the sustainability policy, and they should be well justified in order to be carried out. Moreover, whenever possible, these trips should be done in an environmentally friendly manner, preferably by train or using electric/fossil-free cars.

Diversity

Currently, Drakryggen does not have a wide gender or ethnic diversity within the company, something they are well aware of. Increasing diversity is one of the main areas in the company's sustainability policy and is actively prioritized in future recruitments.

Drakryggen strives to be a flat and non-hierarchical organization, where there is ample space for each individual to have a long-term impact on their work areas and responsibilities. They carefully listen to the wishes and dreams of all employees and make a sincere effort to find assignments and tasks that align with each individual's specific goals. Regular development conversations and follow-ups enable individuals to either step outside their comfort zone or remain in a position where they feel secure. For newly hired employees who may require additional support during their initial period at the company, a mentor is assigned to work alongside them, providing easy access for any questions or concerns. This is what makes us stand out

PlayIT is a playground project in which Drakryggen participated in 2020, together with Linköping Municipality, Uppsala University, KTH, and Ecorado AB. The project is part of the Magistratshagen activity park in Linköping. It features new unique play equipment, the "äggen" (eggs), and the "sagokojan" (fairy tale cabin) – two digitally enhanced installations that are changeable and interactive for those who play with them. Drakryggen's Jonas Hangvar, Richard Kappling, and Linus Evertsson were among those who contributed to this project in various ways.

Location

Drakryggen's Gothenburg office is located in a shared office space at Flöjelbergsgatan 20 B, on the border between Gothenburg and Mölndal. In fresh and pleasant premises, there are currently six IT consultants working on various types of development, primarily focusing on frontend and backend. The team occupies a dedicated section of the office space but shares the kitchen and other common areas with other companies, naturally fostering connections with more colleagues and people encountered at work.Lunch breaks here alternate between bringing food to the kitchen and enjoying meals at nearby eateries. When the weather is nice, lunch can also be enjoyed on the office's rooftop terrace. Tram lines 2 and 4 pass right outside the office, providing a 15-minute commute to central Gothenburg. The tram and several bus routes also provide access to Mölndal city center in less than 5 minutes, where Mölndal station enables longer-distance commuting by train.
