They combine creative skills with technical knowledge to create signs that meet the customer's needs and specifications. Sign makers are responsible for interpreting design proposals, selecting appropriate materials and methods for manufacturing. They cut, engrave, and assemble sign materials and ensure that the final product meets quality requirements. Installation on site and maintenance of signs may also be included in their job duties.Skills and tools
Sign makers need to be able to handle tools and machinery for cutting, engraving, and printing. They must have knowledge of materials such as plastic, metal, and vinyl as well as master graphic design programs.
