They work closely with camera personnel and directors to ensure that the digital image quality meets the production's requirements. DITs often have a background in film studies or a technical education related to film production.Responsibilities
DITs are responsible for managing and ensuring the quality of digital image files during recordings. They monitor and adjust camera settings, perform color corrections, and create backups of recorded material. Their work is crucial for facilitating the post-production workflow and for preventing data loss.Skills and tools
DITs must have a good knowledge of image technology and image processing software, such as DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere. They need to be technically knowledgeable about cameras and recording equipment and have the ability to handle large amounts of data. Communication skills and accuracy are also important qualities. Common competencies demanded by employers are kalibrering, motorteknik and ritningsläsning.
