Sustainability

Active environmental choices
Semcon is always up to date when it comes to changing to a circular economy. They work actively to integrate the climate transition into the company's offer, in customer assignments and in society. In 2021, Semcon chose to accelerate their climate agenda by committing to climate targets within the framework of the Science Based Targets initiative. Science Based Targets is a method for companies to set scientifically based climate targets in line with the Paris Agreement. In the same year, Semcon became a partner of the Exponential Roadmap Initiative – an international network for companies, organizations and other actors who collaborate for an effective climate transition. Semcon also works with many projects in green technology, such as renewable energy and electrified transport solutions. Digitization and automation projects are carried out that create opportunities to reduce emissions and resource consumption.
Diversity
Semcon believes in diversity as a path to better products and the company has a good mix of different ethnicities. The gender distribution is 32% women and 68% men and the goal is to be an equal company (40/60) shortly. Semcon is committed to diversity in several ways. Recently, they started a pro bono project together with Women in tech. The ambition is to increase an interest in technology among students from Angered's high school, especially girls. They also want to encourage them to apply to Semcon without a university education.Semcon is also a proud sponsor of PRIDE and engages both managers and employees in diversity issues through internal training.
Benefits to society
Semcon works in medical technology and in this way help people to live a full and active life. The company develops user-friendly medical technology products, safe and effective medicines and optimized production environments. What makes Semcon unique is that they have an in-house development department - Semcon Studios - which combines design, medical technology and digitization with a focus on the user.

Personal development

Semcon sees inspiration as the path to personal development. Among other things, the company has something called "Spicy Speaking" where inspiring people or companies give lectures to the employees. "Thank god it's friday" is another recurring event where anyone at Semcon has the opportunity to talk about something they are interested in to a curious audience. For those who want to dive deep into a certain area, there is the option of joining one of Semcon's interest groups, so-called CoPs (communities of practice). Maybe you want to build something, or just be part of an interesting discussion that leads to knowledge exchange. One of these groups, for example, has built an air meter that measures how good or bad the air is outside Semcon's office. Semcon also offers development talks, or so-called CDDs (Collaboration development). How often these take place is up to the employee, who is also involved in driving their own development.

This is what makes us stand out

There are many happenings at Semcon. Every Friday they organize "Thank God it's Friday", where breakfast and inspiration is served. Here, an employee at Semcon can talk about an inspiring project or something else of interest. You also have the opportunity to use the office's lab where a 3D printer (among other things) is ready for you and your creative projects. If you’re interested in casual conversation you can join Semcon's after work, which takes place once a month and where beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks and chips are offered.
