Experienced and passionate Data Scientist for an innovative tech company. At Semcon, you will solve unstructured and non-standardized mathematical problems in a company that works with sustainability in all aspects.

Now they are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Data Scientist to work with large unstructured data in a place that is characterized by humor and warmth.

At Semcon, you will have the opportunity to work with the complete data flow in a pipeline. Your focus will be on how to best utilize data through experiments and data analysis to improve products and make customers more competitive in their market. Your main task will be to help customers make data-driven decisions. Here, you are responsible for the entire data flow - from choosing and specifying correct data and questions, as well as aggregation and processing, to defining metrics, analyzing and modeling, and visualizing data in the best possible way.Your work will be collaborative, humble, and communicative as you work externally with the company's clients to understand and solve their problems. Your closest boss from Semcon will be Magnus, who has extensive experience from the consulting industry.

Skills

You need to have a Master's degree or equivalent in statistics, operations research, mathematics, computer science, technical physics, or a related field. You also have at least five years of experience in a data-driven role with a focus on unstructured data. Perhaps you have a strong foundation in mathematical statistics and probability theory and have applied mathematical skills to real heterogeneous data. You have a good understanding of the end-to-end data experience, as well as programming and data visualization, as well as a basic understanding of AI. Semcon also believes that you have experience working with teams of different backgrounds to frame problems, both mathematically and business-wise. As this role requires fluency in Swedish, the application questionnaires are only available in Swedish.

Semcon is always up to date when it comes to changing to a circular economy. They work actively to integrate the climate transition into the company's offer, in customer assignments and in society. If you’re interested in casual conversation you can join Semcon's after work, which takes place once a month and where beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks and chips are offered.

Location

Semcon's office in Gothenburg, which is also the company's HQ, is located at Lindholmsallén 2 in Hisingen. All of Semcon's departments and their 350 employees are located here. The office building is nicely located right by the water and offers a nice view of the city that towers over the other side of the river.Regardless of whether you drive a car, use public transport, bike or walk, it is easy to get to the office. There are several bus lines right outside that take you into town or further out on Hisingen with ease and the area also offers nice bike and walking paths in several directions.Lindholmen offers a variety of lunch options, but for those who don't want to go out for lunch, there is an external restaurant located in the office building. There you also have the opportunity to heat up food that you have brought from home.
